To ensure the safety of the vessel and all persons on board, these rules are set in place for motor yacht “Sol Shine”.

When it comes to having fun, we’re all about it. But, at the end of the day, safety always comes first.

General rules:

  1. NO DRUGS ARE ALLOWED ON THIS VESSEL. (If drugs are suspected or found while you are on board, you will be escorted off the vessel immediately.)
  2. Please notify a crew member when you are on or off the vessel. Group text is preferred. (In the case of a fire, the crew will need to know how many guests are on board so that everyone can be accounted for.
  3. The total capacity for “Sol Shine” is 30 guests. (No ifs, ands, or buts about this.)
  4. The total capacity for “Moon Shine” is 14 guests. (No ifs, ands, or buts about this.)
  5. In the event of a large gathering or party while on board, we would need a 1:6 ratio for crew. At max capacity of 30, we will need a total of 5 crew on board.
  6. Don’t embarrass yourselves and don’t embarrass the boat.
  7. The captain is in charge when you are on the vessel. What he says goes.
  8. Communication is key. (If you ever have questions, concerns, or plans, please always communicate with the crew so that we can ensure you have the best and safest time while on board.
  9. No random guests that you have never met before. (This is to protect the boat, the crew, and the owner.)

Interior general rules:

  1. No food or drinks (besides water or other clear liquids) are allowed in guest cabins at any time. (This prevents stains, damage to linens, carpet, and wood, prevents pests, and keeps your space clean and crumb free.)
  2. Port holes are to remain closed at all times. (These are mainly used for airing out spaces when water damage occurs. They are not for personal use. If crew is not notified of opening, seals can be compromised, or they can be left open, and if left open when the vessel is underway, these openings could sink the vessel in a worse case scenario.)
  3. Hair dryers are available for use. Once you are finished, please turn off, unplug, and leave out to cool. (We don’t want any fires.)
  4. No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere inside of the vessel.
  5. Quiet please! (Walls are thin on boats, and noise travels very easily. Be courteous to crew and other guests.)
  6. Please have general consideration for who is cleaning your cabin.
  7. Sliding doors: If it does not open, there is a silver button on the right as you walk in/left as you walk out.

Toilets:

  1. Absolutely nothing but bodily waste and toilet paper is allowed to be flushed down these toilets. (The toilet systems on boats are more sensitive than septic. If baby wipes, tampons, or paper towels are flushed, this will result in your toilet becoming clogged, damage, and a big mess.)
  2. To flush, there are two buttons next to the toilet. (The button on the right flushes #1. If you have a #2, push the left button to fill the toilet before going, then the right button afterwards. Courtesy flushes are appreciated.
  3. If there is an orange light, that means the tank is getting full. (It will not flush when red.)

Galley general rules:

  1. The stovetop and oven are off limits to guests. (If you would like food to be prepared for you, please have a crew member assist. The top causes of fire on boats include laundry, electrical, and galley fires.
  2. Quiet please! (If you find yourself grabbing a late night snack, please be courteous to the crew and guests who are sleeping just feet from you.)

Exterior Rules:

  1. No shoes are permitted to be worn inside or outside of the boat. (The teak decks outside are very soft and porous. They will dent, scuff, and discolor when shoes are worn. The flooring inside is also soft and easily damaged.)
  2. Music will be kept at a reasonable decibel. (Have fun! But please be courteous to our neighbors and others around you.)
  3. No roughhousing or erratic behavior when the boat is underway. (Dancing and having fun is great! But if the boat rocks or moves unexpectedly, people can fall overboard, seriously hurt themselves, or damage the boat.)
  4. Be aware of spills and accidents. (If something is spilled on deck, please make a crew member aware.)
  5. No dancing or jumping on the couches or tables. (It is very easy to fall and seriously hurt yourself on the boat.)
  6. NO JUMPING IN THE WATER WITHOUT NOTIFYING A CREW MEMBER. This includes and diving from the vessel. (It’s not uncommon to head of guests disappearing when swimming without supervision. Some areas are dangerous due to currents, other boaters, animals, sharp objects, debris, or sewage in the water.)
  7. Smoking may be permitted only on the swim platform of the boat, and only allowed with prior approval from the crew! (Smoking is preferred on the dock. In the event of a smoke break while the boat is not at dock, you may be permitted to do so all the way at the back of the boat.)
